Rarely shown in exhibitions until now, the films that Rose Lowder has been making over the past fifty years constitute a unique research project into visual perception thanks to her rapid interweaving of images and the keen observation of nature through the lens of a 16mm camera that she carries out in uniquely biodiverse sites. Shot on the Mont Gerbier de Jonc, the film La Source de la Loire (The Source of the Loire) (2019-2021) forms the centre of the exhibition. It is accompanied by two “bouquets” made up of twenty one-minute films shot on organic farms, most of which are situated in the south of France near the artist’s home.
