A colorful abstract illustration features French words, a baby on a table, outlined human figures, a winged figure, and a large pink creature, all against a gray background with scattered lines and shapes.

Cosmovision

According to anthropologist Arturo Escobar, any life vision builds a world. The dominant cosmovision of modernity, born in Europe, is contrasted with the cosmovisions of different ethnic groups, pre-colonial systems of values and practices carried by various Indigenous peoples: values and practices based on the respect for life in all its forms. According to sociologist Ariel Salleh, these cosmovisions teach us how to inhabit a place with respect.
