Serge Le Péron

Director

For a long time, a teacher at Paris VIII and a critic for Cahiers du Cinéma, Serge Le Péron co-founded the “Groupe Cinéma Vincennes” with Ali Akika, Guy Chapouillié, Danièle Dubroux, Jean Narboni, and Dominique Villain. Together, they produced the documentary feature “L’Olivier: qui sont les Palestiniens?” (The Olive Tree: Who are the Palestinians?) in 1976, which received awards at the Carthage Film Festival and the Orléans Film Festival in the same year. Following his first fiction feature in 1984 (“Laisse Béton,” with Jean-Pierre Kalfon), Serge Le Péron worked as a columnist and director for the magazine “Cinéma Cinémas” from 1986 to 1990. From the 1990s onwards, he directed television productions such as “Mineur de fonds” (1993), “Léaud l’unique” (2000), “Lise et Artur London” (2004), “Serge Daney, le cinéma et le monde” (2012)… and for cinema, “J’ai vu tuer Ben Barka” (2005) starring Simon Abkarian and Charles Berling.
