Precious Okoyomon is a Nigerian-American artist and writer. Their work examine a history of the criminalization and racialization of light, darkness and the sun (which she believes to be indisputably black). Okoyomon attended the Shimer College in Chicago. Their exhibitions include: A Drop of Sun Under the Earth, Luma Westbau, Zurich (2019); I Need Help, Real Fine Arts, New York (2018); Making Me Blush, Quinn Harrelson/Current Projects, Miami (2018). Okoyomon has read or performed at The Kitchen, New York, Artist’s Space, New York, and The Serpentine Galleries, London. Their first book, Ajebota, was published in 2016, and their second book, But Did U Die?, is forthcoming in 2021.
