Marie Cozette has been director of the Crac Occitanie in Sète since 2018, where she has curated numerous solo shows (Laura Lamiel, Anne Lise Coste, Valentine Schlegel, Eric Baudelaire, Jimmy Robert, Alexandra Bircken, Pauline Curnier Jardin, Katinka Bock…). She regularly seats on acquisition committees (Frac Champagne Ardenne, Frac Lorraine, Frac Ile de France) and juries (Salon de Montrouge, Prix Aware, Rencontres d’Arles, the French pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Villa Médicis, art schools…).
An art historian by training and a graduate of the Ecole du Louvre, Marie Cozette was an independent curator from 2001 to 2007. In 2005, she co-founded the Bétonsalon art and research centre in Paris. From 2007 to 2018, she was director of the Synagogue de Delme art centre, where she organised exhibitions by Yona Friedman, Edith Dekyndt, Susan Hiller, Shilpa Gupta, Jean-Luc Moulène, amongst others. Alongside the exhibition programme, she has published artists’ books and catalogues and run a residency programme dedicated to emerging artists (Julien Creuzet, Clovis Maillet and Louise Hervé…), while developing European co-productions with art venues in Brussels, Karlsruhe, San Sebastian, Milan and London.
