Born in 1996, Lisa Di Giovanni grew up in France, South Carolina, and Belgium. Filmmaker and visual artist, she now lives in Corrèze, in the deep countryside. After studying at the Angoulême School of Animation and the Poitiers School of Fine Arts—from which she graduated in 2021—she completed a short course in documentary writing at the Ardèche Image School of Lussas in 2025. She works both independently and as part of multidisciplinary collectives, primarily in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Following several residencies and exhibitions (Glassbox Nord, Chantier Public, Cité Internationale des Arts, Villa Bloch, Artistes en Résidence, Fabrique Pola, Maison François Méchain, Nuit de l’art Roubaix, Atelier Poussez La Porte) and screenings of her films at festivals (Si Cinéma, Hors-Pistes Pompidou, Polygone Étoilé, Changer la fin, Les Films sur la Paille, Les Mills, Cultural Workers), she is now directing her first documentary, Mandoo, comment disparaître un peu, produced by Visage Productions and Tchik Tchik Productions.

The stories she creates show a particular attention to places and to the people who inhabit them—those who live on a curious fringe of the world, rendered invisible, marginalized, and forgotten. She seeks to understand the components of our lives in society : our habits, our journeys, our spaces, our taste for adventure. Rooted in our times, her work claims access to the far nooks of the world, combining the absurd and humor with a strange and expressive power.
