The Hijabeuses form a collective within the Alliance Citoyenne association that leads a compaign to defend the right of Muslim sportswomen to play soccer in official competition with their headgear. In France indeed, since 2014, sportswomen with headgear are banned from playing the matches.

The collective is thus daily mobilizing with politicians in order to gather and release the words of the first concerned through various actions, against the amendement to ban the veil in sports competition. To make sport inclusive for all women, to work with institutions to change mentalities, to obtain the change of the French Football Federation’s rules, these are the priority missions of the Hijabeuses.
