Kayije Kagame

After graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Technique du Théâtre de Lyon, she went into residence at the Watermill International Summer Program founded by Robert Wilson in Long Island, New York, and pursued with him the adventure at the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Paris where she played the role of Vertu in “Les Nègres” by Jean Genet (2014). At the same time, Kayije Kagame sets up in-situ projects within art spaces, in Switzerland and abroad, where she explores the notion of non-performance through immersive visual and sound devices. In 2019, she produced the project “So long lives this, and this gives life to thee”, an apparatus between theater and cinema, in which the entire TU-Théâtre de l’Usine is invested by the public. She then presented the diptych SANS GRACE and WITH GRACE co-written with actress Grace Seri at Urbaines and TU-Théâtre de l’Usine (2019-2020) then on tour in Switzerland, France and Belgium. Currently, Kayije Kagame is resident artist at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
