Julie Gouju

Dancer, choreographer and artist-researcher

Julie Gouju is a dancer, a choreographer and an artist-researcher. Educated in philosophy at Sorbonne University and in choreography at the CCN of Montpellier, she conducted research in dance aesthetics before fully committing herself to creation.

Her stage work explores the dance and text writing, through an interest in feminism, emancipation, history of violence and its narratives. She created her first piece with Adaline Anobile (À 10CM PRÈS), then alone (FAON, acte tragique #1, FAON, un portrait dansé #2, and soon Le Grand Saut). Her work has been presented in Belgium, France and Switzerland (Next Festival, BUDA, Vivat la danse, Ardanthé, Le Grand Huit, FAR°, CND Centre National de la Danse).

She also pursues a research approach in art, she conducts laboratories,she teaches in art schools and writes articles. L’inesthétique – a platform for research and creation – broadcasts her work regurarly.
