Jean-Luc Moulène

Artist

Jean-Luc Moulène is an artist. He trained at the École des beaux arts de Versailles in the 1970s, where he met Michel Journiac. Their friendship led to numerous collaborations and exchanges, and, in addition to participating in his “messe pour un corps“, Moulène documented Journiac’s work through photographs. Journiac’s work has a very strong influence on Moulenè’s work, in particular his treatment of the symbol, the political and the body. Moulène later made a mortuary portrait of Journiac following his death in 1995, which is reproduced in Tombeau de Michel Journiac (Vincent Labaume, Éditions Al Dante, 1998).
