Jamila Johnson-Small

Trained in Contemporary Dance and working with choreography, video, sound and sculpture, she is interested in building atmospheric landscapes through the live unfolding of the tensions between things that produce meaning. Of Caribbean descent, born and based in London she has formed long term collaborations with other artists including Project O with Alexandrina Hemsley, immigrants and animals with Mira Kautto. More recently she performs in work by Fernanda Munoz-Newsome, collaborates with Rowdy SS, runs HOTLINE with Sara Sassanelli, and GUSH with David Panos, a semi-regular low-key DIY event.
