Born in 1971, Grégory Chatonsky studied philosophy at Paris I, then multimedia at Les Beaux-Arts de Paris. He has been visiting professor at Le Fresnoy and the Université du Québec in Montreal. Since 1994, he has been working on the question of technologies and in particulier the web. Currently, he is artist-researcher at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and, with Béatrice Joyeux Prunel, has organised a research seminar into artificial imagination, and a symposium about the Anthropocene and the post-digital. As a recognised figure in “Netart”, Grégory Chatonsky has participated in numerous solo and group shows both abroad and in France. He has exhibited from the Beaubourg to Tapei, and from Barcelona to New York; he has also been in residence at the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto, at Colab in Auckland, or at Taluen in Amazonia… In 2018, he took part in the exhibition “Land / Sea / Signal” at the Rua Red in Dublin, and “France Électronique” at the Institut Supérieur des Arts in Toulouse. In February 2019, the exhibition Je ressemblerai à ce que vous avez été was hosted by Les Tanneries – Centre d’Art Contemporain in Amilly.
