Gonçalo Sena (PT)

Born in 1983. Lives and works in Lisbon and Berlin.

Gonçalo Sena concluded his MFA at the Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem (2011) and studied communication design at the Fine Arts School of Lisbon (2007). His practice explores the universes of sculpture and architecture through objects, constructions and drawings. The relations between materials, scales and forms, result as a process of temporal-spatial compositions, as an immersive experience between the structural and the ephemeral.

Gonçalo Sena is co-founder and co-director of the independent publisher ATLAS Projectos. He was nominee for the EDP New Artists Award 2009. Solo shows include Distant Smoke, at Baginski Galeria/Projectos, Lisbon (2012), and Due linee in un lago + Colonna in Silenzio, at Galleria Enrico Fornello, Milan (2011).
