Ever faithful to its desire to spotlight the emerging scene in extramural shows, Palais de Tokyo has joined with the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore to present the show Sous la lune/ Beneath the moon, under the aegis of the “Emerging Talents in Emerging Countries” programme, which it initiated with the Total Corporate Foundation.

Sous la lune/ Beneath the moon will create a dialogue between emerging South-East Asian artists and young French artists, through both new productions and existing works, with a view to favouring exchanges about the personal creative processes of each artist in the show, while also transcending the peculiarities of their original cultural environment.

Curated by Khairuddin Hori, Associate Director of Artistic Programming at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), the exhibition explores the mysterious, complex and multi-layered nature of aesthetic experience through immersive artworks and installations in a range of media.

Rather than try to represent respective current artistic landscapes, which are extremely multiple and diverse, the aim of the exhibition is to organize encounters between artists from opposing parts of the globe, whose work may be recognised in their native countries, but remains unknown on the other side of the world.

A performance “Performing the moon” is programmed at the ICA Singapore during Art Stage Singapore with Hicham Berrada, Marie-Luce Nadal and Raphaël Zarka on 02/20/16 from 9.30 to 10 pm.
