At the entrance to Palais de Tokyo, a new staircase has appeared, enabling visitors to go straight down to the lowest point of the building. Mimosa Echard takes advantage of this shortcut, this “Booster”, a reference to speed and video games, making it possible to gain in intensity and swiftness. Thus her exhibition is spread along the staircase that she conceives of as a geological carrot, from marble to concrete, and from light to dark. Playing with the architectural elements in the background, the artist imagines a volcanic eruption that has left fossil traces of its passage, elements of faience that are between the organic and the mineral. Speed is fixed and movement is petrified.
