Grada Kilomba is a psychologist, writer, and multidisciplinary artist. She critically examines questions of memory, trauma, sex, racism and post-colonialism.
In A World of Illusions, her cinematographic trilogy presented here for the first time in France, Grada Kilomba draws on figures from Greek mythology (Nacissus, Oedipus and Antigone) and on colonial history to give body, voice and form to her own critical writing. Through this subversive and poetic gesture, where classical tales speak to contemporary political issues, she invites us to reflect upon new configurations of power and knowledge.
