At the age of 30, Marielle Chabal has already travelled broadly. She grew up between Paris and the Ocean, with a stopover in Damascus, before taking an advanced course in literature at Lycée Fénelon, Paris, then studying art in Nice and London. She spent the year of her 18th birthday in Nouméa. For the past five years, she has been flitting from one artistic residency to another, in France but above all “abroad”: in Montenegro, England, Norway, India and, most recently in Jericho in Palestine, thanks to Karim Kattan’s El Atlal residency programme.
