Myriam Haj Brahim, a producer and DJ known as Malaise Vagal, uses music as a political vehicle, sometimes choosing the absurd and a postmodern aesthetic, other times more explicitly expressing her belief in a global popular uprising.
A resident at Radio Flouka, she asserts her North African and Arab-Muslim heritage in some of her sets and shows. A volunteer at Shams France and a member of the Artists Against Apartheid movement, she continually shapes the activist function of her artistic practice without limits on musical genres.
