Luba Jurgenson

Professor

Luba Jurgenson was born in Moscow in 1958 but moved to France at the age of 17. She has lived in Paris ever since. In France, she has followed a dual path: university studies and literature (several novels and essays). She is currently professor of Russian literature at Sorbonne University and director of the Eur’ORBEM research Center (Cultures and Societies of the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe). She has published several essays related to camp literature (including testimonies about the Gulag). Her latest book focuses on Russian aggression against Ukraine: Quand nous nous sommes réveillés.
