Liza Maignan (b. 1990, Toulouse) is an independent curator and writer. She holds a DNSEP (Master’s degree) from the Institut supérieur des arts de Toulouse, Fine Arts department (2016), and a professional Master’s degree in Contemporary Art and Exhibition-Making from Sorbonne University (2019).
Her practice spans a range of activities within the field of contemporary art, including exhibition curation—like a crossword saying – you should take a breath now, DOC (Paris, 2024); Les assistantes du vide, La Salle de Bains (Lyon, 2023); Sleep No More, co-curated with Fiona Vilmer, Placement Produit (Aubervilliers, 2021); and L’Almanach des Aléas at the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, Paris (2019)—as well as writing texts for exhibitions and catalogues, critical essays, and more experimental forms for various publications.
In 2023, she was awarded the TextWork grant from the Fondation d’entreprise Pernod Ricard for her essay Rumeurs des villes (available online). From 2020 to 2025, she directed Galerie Florence Loewy. She is a member of the publishing house Paraguay Press and oversees the programming of their collective space, Elsewhere, located at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
