Les Ami·e·s du Patchwork des noms

Collective

Les Ami·e·s du Patchwork des noms is a collective created in Paris in 1989 and still active today. It seeks to draw public attention to the AIDS epidemic through the creation and conservation of patchwork panels dedicated to people who died from AIDS-related illnesses, which are displayed in public spaces as their names are read out loud. The group offers a symbolic space of expression where the bereaved to grieve for their loved ones.
