Gregg Bordowitz (1964) is an artist, writer, activist and teacher whose work includes videos, texts and performances combining autobiography, political theory and social satire around the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Jewish heritage, queerness and oral histories of New York. For the current exhibition, he has created the film Thirdness (2023), the third instalment of a project that began with the films Fast Trip, Long Drop (1993) and continued with Habit (2001). The films in the series consist of interviews, visual collages and personal meditations on HIV/AIDS. His publications include The AIDS Crisis Is Ridiculous and Other Writings, 1986–2003 (MIT Press, 2004) and Some Styles of Masculinity (Triple Canopy, 2021).
