As part of her Mad Marginal series, an extended investigation into the relationship between emancipation, poetry and psychiatry, Spanish artist Dora García (b. 1965, lives and works in Oslo) creates diagrams based on the annotations she left in the margins of books by psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan or by science-fiction author Philip K. Dick. These Mad Marginal Charts freely mix together figures including Sigmund Freud, James Joyce, Fernand Deligny and Franco Basaglia, as well as word clouds made up of the slips of the tongue, ritornellos and puns of which psychoanalysis is so fond.
The artist is represented by Galerie Michel Rein, Paris
