Doppelganger is an anglicisation of the German doppelgänger, meaning “a double” or “lookalike”. As a source of inspiration in a variety of artistic fields, from literature to film, without forgetting music, it evokes the notion of a ghostly double or alter ego, thus allowing an examination of questions of identity, duality and a person’s (consciously or unconsciously) hidden facets.
