In an age of rapid visual association and assimilation, the ability to construct narratives through a language of symbols is commonplace. The question that arises from this ever-evolving skill is whether these additional layers of culturally derived mythology only act to solidify an already established language of symbolic hierarchy?
In an attempt to question the role of the individual within this common mythology, the language of monumental architecture is re-interpreted here and presented on a flat plane. The viewer is therefore encouraged to view from above, and move through, this space of translated visual iconography as a means of engaging anew with the role of the symbol in the construction of our society.
