Where would the roots of the Eiffel Tower appear, if they went through the earth?
With the help of mathematics, Estelle Delesalle and Laurent Derobert’s scientific musings led to the four places where these roots would appear, on the other side of our planet. The Eiffel Tower would protrude forth at the four corners of the world, somewhere near Hawaii and Java as well as Easter Island and Bouvet Island.
The globe as well as the exhibited mathematical studies reveal this search and its results, starting point for a vast expedition led by four navigators who will go out to sea looking for the Eiffel Tower’s imaginary roots thus linking these four points together.
This off-site work is presented in the scope of Le Bord des mondes exhibition which is on view until 17 May 2015 at Palais de Tokyo. Just 5 minutes from the Eiffel Tower on foot!
