plan D - CND x Palais de Tokyo

from 04/09/2026 to 04/18/2026

From April 9 to 18, 2026, the CND and the Palais de Tokyo present a new edition of plan D, in dialogue with the Palais de Tokyo’s exhibitions. The programme explores notions of vulnerability, fragility, and, more broadly, deviations. The bodies, objects, and subjects of dance and performance are also social markers. When they contradict expected representations, they can be subject to stigmatization and violence.

In this day and age, in a political field saturated with predatory power postures, the artists set these bodies in motion and summon tenderness, listening, and attention. These artists open up a space in which the unveiling and sharing of fragilities invite us to question our ways of seeing, feeling, and experiencing, and compose other possibilities for inhabiting the world. Influenced by the question of vulnerability, which has been present in dance since its modern inception, sometimes echoing more directly the works of visual artists present in the exhibition spaces, plan D’s pieces will take the form of performances, workshops, conferences, and screenings

Until the renovation of the façades of the CND Centre national de la danse is completed and its spaces fully reopen, plan D will present, in spring and autumn, an off-site programme conceived with a long-standing partner, in order to continue experiencing dance in all its forms. plan D will be a place for encounters, reunions and discovery between the CND and its audiences. plan D brings together several ideas: that of an alternative solution, another path, an inventive approach — a dance plan composed of multiple forms rooted in the very essence of the CND.
