plan D - CND x Palais de Tokyo

From 04/03/2025 to 04/13/2025

plan D

From 3 to 13 April, the CND and the Palais de Tokyo will present a series of events to coincide with the season’s exhibitions dedicated to collective joy: shows, performances, workshops, conferences, seminars and parties, all of which will provide opportunities for encounters with contemporary choreographic creation. This first edition of plan D places performance at the heart of the Palais de Tokyo’s exhibition spaces.

This program marks the beginning of the CND’s off-site period: a series of events entitled plan D designed in collaboration with long-term partners. During the renovation of its facades, the CND will offer “dance plans” in the spring and autumn that reflect its identity as well as its aim to foster dialogue between its activities and the multidisciplinary programs of its partners.

For the first edition of plan D, the CND x Palais de Tokyo collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between the two institutions. In connection with the exhibition season, the focus is on joy, without naivety, as an eminently political feeling, as a driving force behind collective effervescence that builds common ground. Joy as a space to breathe, or even to subvert, productionist and normative imperatives. Dancing bodies are a powerful vehicle for this feeling, whether you’re watching them or experiencing the pleasure of movement yourself. Finally, joy is questioned not only in terms of what artistic proposals tell us about the world, but also in the way in which its communicative dimension crosses over, together, the artists and the audience.
