Building on her essay published in the Magazine Palais #31, ‘Joy without Hope’, Laurence Bertrand Dorléac brings together different stories to reactivate the phantom presences that have passed through the Palais de Tokyo over the course of its history with reference to a selection of artists whose practice involves this very kind of reanimation. The talk will chart its way through a history which persists, in its own way, in the signs of the present.
