Urban legends / Paris-Seoul workshop

As part of France-Korea year in 2015-2016, the Pavillon Neuflize OBC is collaborating with the SeMA (Seoul Museum of Art) and its SeMA Nanji Residency on a workshop and exhibition project on the theme of urban legends. Inaugurated in November 2015 with the visit to Paris of the Korean curator Gahee Park, research into the two host cities will continue until March 2016, when the residents have been invited to spend three weeks in Seoul. Their stay will conclude with the exhibition preview on 5 April 2016.

The idea is to observe the many dimensions of the urban space through the creative eyes of Paris and Seoul and then provide a resolutely subjective take on it. The Pavillon residents will be incited by urban legends to revisit their points of reference. They will use these mythical devices to translate this collective mode of communication into their own personal playground and their own interpretation of modern day rumours.

Exhibition at the SeMA from 5 April to 29 May 2016

Co-curators: Gahee Park and Fabien Danesi
