The Double is a performance based on the Hollywood film tropes of the Heist, exploring the silent violence of European monuments and colonial botanical spaces. The first iteration of this work took place in a spa house in Kleve, Germany, and the second iteration took place on the twin islands of Bärenzwinger, formerly used to cage captive city bears in the centre of Berlin. Referencing the Tarkovskian cinematic invention of The Zone, this third performance taking place at Palais de Tokyo, will reimagine its spaces as an abandoned museum.
Launched in fall 2017, La Manutention is a residency program dedicated to performing artists. Holly Childs & Gediminas Zygus are invited in residence for one month. The artists meet the public once per week in the spaces of the Palais de Tokyo. These performative evenings allow the public to discover their world and those of their guests, while offering the opportunity to follow the evolution of their work.
