Rare meeting with Fujiko Nakaya

A rare meeting with Fujiko Nakaya will take place to coincide with publication of the latest anarchival title devoted to the work of this Japanese artist.

Fujiko Nakaya is the pioneer of a very unusual and astonishing art:: fog sculpture. This first comprehensive monograph presents the fog works she has created for public spaces throughout the world – including the fog sculpture for the Pepsi Pavilion at Osaka Expo in 1970, as well as her video works and her paintings.

Fujiko Nakaya FOG consists of a catalogue raisonné with texts by the artist and five essays by French and Japanese authors, a DVD-Video comprising two rare videos by Nakaya, as well as a selection of filmed documents about her fog sculptures, and an interactive DVD-ROM giving access to a major database relating to her work.

These are all documents, several of them unpublished, enabling us to appreciate this unique artistic approach to nature in which art, science and technology are combined.
