THURSDAY APRIL 12 :

23H15 : S.P.A.M.M. : Enlarge your art ! – Salle Grémillon

Created by Thomas Cheneseau, Michaël Borras (a.k.a Systaime) and Silicon Maniacs (Nirina Thibault and Denis-Quentin Bruet Férréol), SPAMM offers a new experience of on-line art: All you need do is click to go on a virtual stroll from room to room. SPAMM’s ambition is to experiment with new ways of exhibiting art as it experiences a digital transformation. Visit SPAMM with the artists Olivier Blaecke, Yann Minh, and the SPAMM Crew.

DURING THE NIGHT, FROM THURSDAY TO FRIDAY :

01H : Barbara Polla : Beautiful penis – Salle Grémillon

Beautiful Penis has to do with the eviction of the “manly” from our contemporary societies. Representations of the female and male body, the current failure to represent the male body, and more specifically the penis, by women artists in particular… Both the choice of images and the message set out to be simultaneously serious, tender, even wonder-struck, faced with so much unknown beauty, which absolutely should be rehabilitated.

FRIDAY APRIL 13 FROM 10H TO 19h :

10H : Delphine Borione : Pour une nouvelle diplomatie culturelle : le soft power à la française, au service de l’action artistique.

After relating a series of terms to one another – “soft power”, “public diplomacy”, “diplomacy based on influence” – Delphine Borione, the director of cultural policy and French at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, offers a definition of “cultural diplomacy”, spelling out where it sits amidst these other diplomacies. With a focus on France’s role in the EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) network and a presentation of the interventions of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs involving artists and the players in contemporary art, and of the role of the French cultural network in the world.

11H : Françoise Darmon : Du sens dans l’utile

Objects, monuments in towns, furniture in homes, clothes made to the scale of the body, tools for everyday life, have accompanied human beings since time immemorial. They change to reflect progress, civilizations, cultures. Today, after the Industrial Revolution, profound changes are occurring associated with the emergence of intelligent objects: Are these upheavals causing business bosses to rethink what they do, or not ?

With Isabelle de Ponfilly, CEO of Vitra France. The 5-5 Designers /NESPRESSO.

12H : Frédéric Danos et Nicolas Rollet : Conférence Marabout

Along the agreeable lines of drift and association of ideas, the conférence-marabout intends to get the audience to listen to a selection of documents coming from the collection of the Encyclopédie de la parole. Embellished with comments, digressions, performed reconstructions, little choreographic detours, the conférence-marabout is a zigzag progress through the various entries in the Encyclopedia.

13H : Damien Airault et Victor Boullet : Conférence performance

Damien Airault is a freelance exhibition curator and art critic. Victor Boullet is an artist and founder of the Institute of Social Hypocrisy. This conversation between them will be the opportunity for a new performance, taking as its basis a talk about some new paradigms of exhibition curatorship today, and the work of Victor Boullet.

14H : Frederick Rousseau : Special IRCAM workshop

Discover the sound possibilities offered by the IRCAM Tools! Processing and modeling of the voice in real time in the spectral domain. Spatialization and multi-channel acoustic simulation. A rare and amazing experience.

15H : Okwi Enwezor : La Triennale – Intense proximité

What landscape does Intense Proximité seek to explore? Resorting to visual arts, performances and cultural action, this project investigates the sociopolitical environment in which the fracture between belief and its symbols has become undeniably visible. Conference in english.

16 H : Alexis Guillier : Reworks

The projection of Reworks in the context of “30 hours at the Palais de Tokyo”, conjuring up a random slide show where the taxonomy, vandalism, transitory discourse and fragility of the works collide, constitutes the ideal opportunity to invite the artist to present his work through a lecture dedicated to it.

18H : Amis du Palais : 10 ans de soutien de la scène émergente

How can an art center dedicated to contemporary creativity by supported by a Friends’ Association?

Since 2002, at the time of the opening of the Palais de Tokyo, the Friends of the Palais de Tokyo have supported the Palais’s artistic program schedule in various forms. They also take over from the Palais de Tokyo in following up the artists who have exhibited there. Finally the Friends may opt to enroll as facilitators for access to and comprehension of art for young novice collectors.

Participants: Florian Fouché et John Cornu (artists), Denise Vilgrain (member of the Friends’ Office), Daniel Bosser (President of the Friends), Julien Fronsaq (a curator at the Palais de Tokyo). The debate will be led by Guillaume Durand.
