Les Temps qui restent (literally ‘The Times We Have Left’) is an online publication founded by members of the former Temps Modernes committee and run by an intergenerational, interdisciplinary, and transnational collective. The journal combines different formats to reexamine the legacy of modernity in light of the multiple ecological, social, political and intellectual crises we are currently facing.
In November 2025, the Palais de Tokyo invited Les Temps qui restent to curate a series of ‘philosophical visits’ for the ‘ECHO DELAY REVERB: American Art, Francophone Thought ’ exhibition. This exhibition explores how American artists have developed their artistic practices in dialogue with French-speaking thinkers from the second half of the 20th century to the present.
For these visits, the journal invited several contemporary French-speaking thinkers to select a piece from the exhibition and explain how it resonates with their current thinking. Continuing these transatlantic conversations allows us to open up new avenues of reflection.
Speakers : Soumaya Mestiri, Pierre Niedergang, Fabrice Bourlez, Vanessa Morisset, Étienne Balibar and Silvia Lippi
Organization : Arto Charpentier, Jeanne Etelain, Patrice Maniglier, Vanessa Morisset
