As part of her Symbiosis residency, Sharon Eyal takes over Room 337 to showcase a selection of screenings dedicated to her choreographic language.
For over ten years, Sharon Eyal and her partner, Gai Behar, have been developing a dance that explores both individuality and togetherness. In 2013, they founded Sharon Eyal Dance (S-E-D), a company that operates within the traditional contemporary dance world while approaching it in distinctive and unconventional ways, constantly pushing its boundaries. Their work extends to collaborations with a wide range of artists and across various media, engaging in creative projects beyond the stage.
For the first time, the duo unveils their video archives to the public, offering a carefully curated selection of their most compelling recent works and highlighting their dialogues with the world of contemporary art. These recordings reveal the intensity of the connection between bodies in a new light, creating an immersive audio-visual experience of their work.
After several stages of rehearsals and creations at the Palais de Tokyo, Sharon Eyal will conclude her residency in November 2025 with a major performance, a reflection on her last creation Into the Hairy, reimagined and tailor-made for the occasion.
With Symbiosis, the Palais de Tokyo continues its collaboration with performance artists and reaffirms its commitment to sustaining these relationships over the long term, within a framework inspired by institutional permaculture that guides the institution’s project.
The artists invited throughout the year as part of this new format will thus be able to expand their work to engage with the building’s spaces and programs through various forms of interaction with the public, from discreet and intimate interventions to more spectacular gestures.
Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar have been invited to inaugurate this new program.
Sound laboratory, Room 37 becomes 37db, when the Palais de Tokyo entrusts this oval space to artists, musicians, and composers to explore the exhibition through acoustic experiences. These invitations go beyond the field of contemporary art, expanding its boundaries and decibels.
