Born in 1983 in Breisach am Rhein, Germany. After being awarded of the Golden Nica at Prix Ars Electronica in 2008 he won a two-month artist residency at CERN last year. Many of von Bismarck’s works have a heavy technical component, and several of his projects make references to math and science, but they also involve performances and videomaking. His approach to visual art unhinges the tradition and claims for an active artist’s role in society.
For Un Homme juste est quand meme un homme mort, Von Bismarck is moving the traditional Christmas ceremony of his family from his home to Palais de Tokyo, relatives and furniture included.
