Jonas Mekas, a figure emblematic of video art and a pioneer of the autobiographical film, made Walden (Diaries, Notes and Sketches), a 16 mm film lasting three hours, in 1969. The work, a real intimate journal by the artist, follows his daily life between 1964 and 1968, and is a valuable archival testimony illustrating the birth of a new cinematographic form.
