How can a body be transposed on common figures, myths and narratives to bring about new ways of talking about oneself? How can we show a lesbian disabled body on screen without falling into the easy trap of sensationalism? These are questions that No Anger tackles in the performance entitled In search of my body, which explores their relation with mythical and cultural figures like Orpheus and Eurydice, thus forming the fragmented chapters of a quest for one’s identity. This performative film project is inspired by Monique Wittig, Claude Cahun and Paul B. Preciado, and interrogates the translation of minority bodies within the language of the dominant majority. A permanent film installation named Barbie dans un bunker is meant to accompany the piece, and the installation forms the basis of the staging for In seach of my body.
