The chamber of echoes : Starting-Block

From 21 February to 31 March

For the Starting-Block workshop, the chamber of echoes is transformed into the back kitchen of the Wonder collective.

From February 25 to 28, the Palais de Tokyo organises Starting-Block, a creative workshop dedicated to young people aged 16 to 21 preparing for art school entrance examinations. For the occasion, Wonder collective members Louise Mutrel, Louis Danjou, Charlotte Janis and Viola Vitali take over the workshop and put their trans-disciplinary skills at the service of the students: risography, sculpture, sewing, drawing, photography, video, ceramics and culinary creation.

Together, these artists have blended their techniques to produce BOYAU JOYAU – a stomach, a cocoon, a collective metabolism? – the starting point for the workshop. This form, which evokes what we feed on, from the microscopic to the monumental, from words to internet videos, from movements to metamorphoses, will host the inspirations, reflections and productions of workshop participants.

Building a place together, mixing individual creations and collective projects, echoes the way in which the Wonder works, an artistic collective whose successively and temporarily occupied buildings are full-fledged members of the collective. In the maze of workshops and corridors, artistic practices rub shoulders, sparkle, recycle, self-digest and compost.
