Institut national d'histoire de l'art

Institute

The Institut National de l’Histoire de l’Art (INHA), a leading institution in French art history, was founded in 2001, after being conceived and formalized by Jacques Thuillier and André Chastel a few decades earlier.
The emblematic institute brings together researchers and curators from museums and libraries, complementing the institutions devoted to this discipline in France and around the world.
A living crossroads of research thanks to the meetings it organizes and to its library, it welcomes students and researchers of all origins to constantly enrich the work of art history in all periods and according to all approaches. At the service of researchers and any person or institution interested in art history research, the INHA develops and promotes the scientific activity of the discipline through in-depth work and rich and varied activities.
